Every once in a while I remember this account; the account I made when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old and eager to consume everything I could on the internet. I'm 26 now. If you're reading this, I'd like to say thanks. Newgrounds, like so many others before and after me, was my home. The page I'd visit every day after school. The website that had me begging for a computer from my parents. I spent hours and days just getting lost in flash movies, games, and everything in between. Completely enamored with the atmosphere and unknown-ness of it all. I had tried for hours and hours and hours to make my own content - often getting frustrated and resorting to Family Guy joke theft or just simple little tests. Of course now that I'm older I've finally made things I'm proud of, animations and all. A lot of the dreams that started here I've managed to accomplish (and beyond). It all started right here! For that, I have to say thanks. Thank you for all the Sonic Vs. Mario sprite animations, thank you for telling me my stuff sucked, thank you for showing me outlandish content, thank you for introducing me to breakbeat, thank you for coarsely patting me on the back and pushing me forward when I fell. It was the content I saw here that developed my taste and vision and allowed me to strive to do more; to do better. As much as I miss being an overeager and lonely child, I'm even happier being an overeager and skilled adult.
See you in another 10 years.
